Recreation
Beautiful, wide beach is the main, but not the only attraction of Niechorze.
The town is dominated by a well-known lighthouse, 45 m high, with a distinctive tower shape. The lighthouse is open to visitors – from its top you can admire a wonderful view of the Baltic Sea. However, you first need to climb 210 steps. Those who do not want to climb to the top of the lighthouse can see its miniature model in the nearby park. Similarly, models of all Polish coast lighthouses at a 1:10 scale are displayed.
Niechorze is also known for its over a hundred-year-old narrow-gauge railway, which arrives here from Rewal or Gryfice. It is also worth visiting the Maritime Fisheries Museum, where the Baltic Herring Festival is organized, and the Butterfly House, where exotic butterfly specimens are presented. A definite attraction of Niechorze is Lake Liwia Łuża, an ornithological reserve, connected to the sea by the picturesque Liwka canal. The canal forms the natural boundary between Niechorze and Pogorzelica.
For those who enjoy active forms of spending free time, the Sports Complex awaits, including football fields, tennis courts, beach volleyball courts, a sports hall, and a skatepark. People who like to relax on two wheels will also find many attractive cycling routes here, such as the Trail Following the History of Niechorze, the Lake Liwia Łuża Trail, the Maritime Fisheries Trail, or the Eastern Connector Trail.
